This is a nice rare to get sword. It is a 1860's Cavalry Saber. Its maker is J.E. Bleckmann. These swords were known to be used early in the war. They have never been very plentiful. There was not that many made. But this sword has the famous bow and arrow marking on the blade with the B and M stamped on the inside of the bow. But slightly wore down. The blade looks to of been sharpened at one time. Probably by the soldier. It has the original wire wrap. And some of the original leather is still there. But it is a very tight sword that has no repairs. It does not have a scabbard. But priced accordingly. the blade has a smooth dark look.  But all together a good sword.
